They
are four distinctly different individuals with one common passion….music.
Ezekiel Ox. Jimmy Tee. Rob Kaay. Matt Crute. Collectively, they
were known as Full Scale, one of Melbourne’s
hottest up and coming bands.
Colour,
Light, Movement, Sound! is the 5 year chronicle
of Full Scale’s journey from Melbourne’s independent
music scene to America’s major label marketplace. Through
extensive interviews, live footage and still photography, Colour, Light, Movement, Sound! offers
an up close and brutally honest look at how 4 people deal with
the greatest opportunity of their lives in the world’s toughest
music market.
Known for their intense live shows and dedicated work ethic, Full
Scale took a grassroots approach to establishing themselves in
Australia’s rock scene. They recorded 2 independent releases,
the White Arrows and Black Arrows EPs, which caught the attention
of American producer Jay Baumgardner (Papa Roach, Helmet), the
president of NRG Recording Studios.
This attention quickly created a buzz in the American music industry
and the band soon found themselves in the middle of a bidding war. What
followed was a roller coaster ride of events that at various times almost
signaled the end of Full Scale. When the band finally did secure a record
deal with Columbia Records they thought it would be the key to their
continued success. In reality it would be the very thing that tears
them apart.
Colour,
Light, Movement, Sound! is the first feature length
documentary by New York filmmaker David Krebelj. Eight years in
the making, CLMS! is finally complete
and ready to be launched! The DVD comes with a bonus disc entitled
“Bootleg” packed with live footage and several extras.
